Field of Dreams as a Metaphor for Marriage

One of my favorite movies is Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones. To me, it is a metaphor about living your dreams – and what better way to do that than with a happy marriage?

The realization of the dream in the movie is the cornfield which turns into a baseball field and brings people who want to connect with nostalgia and their favorite pastime – baseball. Kevin Costner debates whether to take a risk and make his dream a reality, and he is eventually convinced by James Earl Jones, who tells him, “If you build it they will come.”

Marriage is very much like that cornfield. Two people from different backgrounds and with very different personalities decide to build something together and they find reasons to make it work. They create a strong bond through positive communication and shared time and that empty field turns into a beautiful dream.

When I founded Amuta Together in Happiness, I also felt a little like Kevin Costner. Marriage education workshops are the field and my dream is to bring as many people as possible to watch the game – or rather, to learn the skills that will make marriage a dream come true.

If you want to enjoy marriage to the fullest, invest in your relationship by coming to a relaxed and practical workshop.

My next workshop is taking place at the OU Center on May 15, 2018, 7-9:30 PM.

Only 25 NIS per person, including refreshments!

Co-hosted by OU Center, Israel and Amuta B’Yachad B’Osher/Together in Happiness
